Biopsychosocial implications of living with multiple sclerosis: a qualitative study using interpretative phenomenological analysis

A qualitative study using interpretative phenomenological analysis explored the lived experiences of eight MS patients in the UAE. Three key themes emerged: illness management, acceptance and gratitude, and adaptive coping. These findings reflect the biopsychosocial model, highlighting the interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors in MS management. The study underscores the need for a multidisciplinary, multidimensional approach to care, focusing on routine assessments and collaborative efforts to enhance patients’ quality of life.
